BIOGRAPHY
Painter of portraits, landscapes, figure subjects and sporting pictures. Third son of the painter Philip Hermogenes Calderon. Educated at the Slade School under Professor Le Gros. Founder and Principal of the School of Animal Painting, 1894-1916. He was a regular exhibitor at the Royal Academy from 1881-1921. His first Royal Academy painting was purchased by Queen Victoria.
