BIOGRAPHY
Painter of portraits and historical subjects. Son of F.W. Adams, an art dealer, and christened Sidney Herbert Adams. Changed his name by deed-poll. Studied art at the RA Schools, in Antwerp, and in Paris under Gerome at the Ecole des Beaux Arts. Exhibited at the leading London galleries from 1876. Lived in London and died on 30th March 1923.
