WILLIAM MORRIS: MINISTERING TO THE SWINISH LUXURY OF THE RICH
David Mabb’s recent work has appropriated the work of other artists in order to create something new. In this unique project for the Whitworth, Mabb will curate an exhibition of work from the Gallery’s holdings of William Morris material to produce a new installation. By recycling familiar images in fresh contexts this exhibition raises questions about authenticity and originality, the notion of the artist as individual genius and value in art.
