THE PRE-RAPHAELITE DREAM
Hoping to return art to the innocence they associated with the Medieval era, the Pre-Raphaelites attained a vision of feminine beauty, spirituality, and morality that continues to astonish with its clarity and virtuosity. Tate's unsurpassed collection includes masterpieces by Dante Gabriel Rossetti, William Holman Hunt, and Ford Madox Brown.
The Pre-Raphaelite Dream is organized by Tate in association with the Frist Center for the Visual Arts, and will tour to the Art Gallery of Western Australiia, Dunedin Public Art Gallery, and the Frist Center, its only U.S. venue.
Exhibition categories: 19th Century, British, Pre-Raphaelites
