The landscape, light and lifestyle of West Cornwall have attracted thousands of artists over the centuries, yet only a handful of names are familiar to most art lovers. This exhibition includes a range of work from the period 1840-1939, from some of the best- known names and images to sole identified examples of Cornish paintings by unknown talents. It accompanies the launch of a major new dictionary, researched by West Cornwall Art Archive and published by Art Dictionaries Ltd, covering over 1000 artists who lived and worked in the area west of Truro between 1840 and 1939.
