AMERICAN IMPRESSIONISM: THE BEAUTY OF WORK

The exhibition, guest-curated by Susan G. Larkin, explores American Impressionists’ treatment of labor. Approximately 45 paintings by 20 artists will be divided into categories corresponding to work sites: the city; the countryside; the waterfront; factories, mills, and quarries; and the home. Among the artists who will be represented are William Merritt Chase, Daniel Garber, Childe Hassam, Willard Metcalf, Theodore Robinson, John Singer Sargent, Robert Spencer, and J. Alden Weir.
