PIONEERING PAINTERS: THE GLASGOW BOYS 1880–1900

It is the first major exhibition devoted to the Glasgow Boys since 1968. It will be the definitive Glasgow Boys exhibition, comprising around 100 oil paintings and 50 works on paper. All the important artists associated with the group will be represented, including James Guthrie, E A Hornel, George Henry, Joseph Crawhall, John Lavery, and Arthur Melville.

Works from Glasgow Museums collections, such as The Druids – Bringing in the Mistletoe by George Henry and E A Hornel, and William Kennedy's Stirling Station – will sit alongside other major pictures brought together from public and private collections across the country.

The exhibition will celebrate the achievements of the group and also review their legacy. A condensed version of the exhibition will later tour to the Royal Academy of Arts in London.
