Rarely-seen paintings from the collections of the Shipley Art Gallery are on show to the public, in an exhibition exploring the depiction of women in art.

Treasures from the Shipley displays some of the highlights from the Gallery's collection, including 16th to 19th century Italian, Dutch, German and Flemish works as well as a recent photograph taken this year, of musician Kathryn Tickell.

The exhibition also reflects the collecting habits of Joseph Shipley whose original legacy of 504 paintings formed the basis of the Gallery's collection.
