The Lord of the Rings ~J.R Tolkien

Using both the variations of the texts and movies I have compiled my favorite parts of both. I am a huge fan of Tolkiens work, his imagery and imagination are thrilling. I also love a good romance so I couldn't help but bring out the movie's interpretation. Hope you enjoy...I will be adding a few more I think so keep checkin in..

Astrologer from the Tower
Astrologer from the Tower
Gandalf journeys to Minas Tirith in Gondor where he researches the old texts to find that Bilbo's ring might well be the One Ring of Power forged by Sauron in the fires of Mt. Doom in Mordor. Gandalf returns to The Shire and has Frodo test the ring to find that it is indeed the One Ring.

The Legend of the City of Ys
The Shire is the home of a small race of people called Hobbits. They live a simple life and care little for the events and news of the outside world. Hobbits enjoy a quiet rural lifestyle of farming, gardening and raising farm animals. They are largely ignored by the rest of the peoples of Middle Earth, although Dwarves pass through bringing bits of news on their way to the Eastern Mountains and Elves pass through on their way to the Grey Havens. They have lived in relative isolation, but now their peace has been disturbed.

The Wizard
The Wizard
Gandalf arrives in Hobbiton bringing fireworks to help celebrate Bilbo and Frodo Baggins' birthdays. He knows of Bilbo's plan to quietly leave The Shire. He insists that Bilbo leave his ring behind, which Bilbo reluctantly does so before departing.

'Who Knoweth the Spirit of Man...'
Gimli, son of Gloin. A mighty dwarf of noble blood who became part of the company. His stature was very little but he had a fiery heart to go along with it.

Pandemonium

Joan of Arc
Eowyn prepares for battle as she disguises herself as a soilder in her father's army to fight against Sauron's evil forces. She is bound to her people and wants desperately to fight to defend her kingdom, though she is a woman- forbidden to fight.

Winter Landscape with Church
The Citadel is located on the seventh and most heavily defended tier of the city of Minas Tirith. The High Court of Gondor and the Tombs of the Stewards are within the Citadel. The White Tree also is located in the courtyard of the Citadel.

La Chimère À l'Île de Saint Bernhardt
Black Riders are the Nazgûl. The Nazgûl were once nine kings of Men. They were given nine rings of power by Sauron and were corrupted. They were then doomed to become wraiths and still serve Sauron. They had been sent to find The Shire and Baggins after Gollum had revealed those details.

The Offering
Queen of the Elves, lady of light, this powerful great lady was given charge of Lothlorian-villiage of trees. She holds the silver bowl which tells many things-things that may pass, some that already have, and some that never may at all...

Full Moon behind Cirrus Cloud from the Roundhay Park Castle Battlements
Before the last battle that would end all battles...the good forces wait for their doom or victory as the hideous orcs approach as rapidly as the rising moon..

Evening Star

She then recalls when they first met. She tells him that she has chosen to bind herself to him and become mortal. He does not want her to do so, but she has already decided. She gives him her Evenstar necklace as a symbol of her devotion to him.

She immediately returns to Rivendell and questions her father, who admits that he had seen a child as a possibility. For some reason, she suddenly starts to grow cold and loses her immortality. She tells Elrond that it is time. The elven blacksmiths reforge Narsil as Andúril and Elrond brings it to Aragorn at Dunharrow and tells him of Arwen's fate.

4/18/2004 8:59:43 PM Sadira Thank you-glad you liked it...it's probebly the most fun I've had making an album-and finding the pictures to go along with the books.
4/20/2004 6:30:06 PM Anna de Bolaine I LOVE THE LORD OF THE RINGS TOO! *Viggo*
4/21/2004 7:06:45 AM la vittoriana Interesting choices! Boreas looks so much like how I imagined Tinuviel to be like! :o
4/21/2004 1:32:09 PM Eowyn, Lady of the Shield-Arm Very splendid! Nice interpretation of text. Eowyn is my favorite. : )
4/21/2004 9:39:55 PM Sadira Yes V-the boreas seemed to cry out Tinuviel-it was too perfect she's the reason I started the album. -Glad you liked Eowyn, Eowyn, Joan of Arc comes close to her struggle to fight in an army...I'm thinking of new characters and places to add at the moment.
4/22/2004 4:37:59 AM Treeseed Evening Star is such a perfect choice...I love this whole album but that one is just SO! Tinuviel is exquisite, too. Although I've yet to see an artist capture the vision that Professor Tolkien painted in my mind. I hope you add more characters.
4/22/2004 4:42:27 AM Treeseed I know this one is of the tragic Ophelia but it also reminds me of the delightful Goldberry...sitting here on the willow, surrounded by her water lilies with the river flowing by. http://artmagick.com/paintings/painting1380.aspx
4/22/2004 2:41:53 PM Sadira How right you are! I love Goldenberry she's so unnappreciated by most Tolkien lovers...but what a vision! Having a room filled with water lilies in bowls, dress shot with silver dew! I'd like all that personally...as for Tinuviel she is my favorite of al of Tolkiens characters since her story of forbidden love mirrors mine very closely...her description is one of awesome beauty that no one can ever duplicate on canvas, she's different things to different people. Thanks for dropping by!
4/23/2004 10:14:45 PM Sadira Still searching for more characters to add....
5/5/2004 5:36:25 PM Sadira ..almost done...thanks for the suggestions.
7/10/2004 11:28:19 AM Battlemaiden How about- http://www.art-albums.com/paintings/default.aspx?id=1792- "White flames seemed to Frodo to flicker on their crests and he half fancied that he saw amid the water white riders upon white horses with frothing manes!"
7/10/2004 11:31:59 AM Battlemaiden The Horses of Neptune by Walter Crane is the painting
7/14/2004 3:22:01 PM Darragha Foster Out-bloody-standing! Darragha
7/14/2004 3:33:30 PM Ca ne fait rien Here I duck as I admit I am not a huge Tolkein fan, but I have seen the films, and enjoyed them. your album is so well done that I might just have another go at the books. It must have been a tremendous labour of love.

2/28/2005 9:59:44 PM Sadira As am I!!!
3/1/2005 2:34:02 AM On a Quest Beautiful album! I always wondered what made people Tolkien fans (I haven't read any of his books), and now I think I see - the characters seem to be all so interesting and unusual! Thanks for such a great album! :)
1/5/2007 12:30:27 AM Sadira In all honesty, Quest, Tolkiens writting can be a bit tireing to say the least...he tends to go on and on---a bit dry too. The magick in his writting is indeed in the richness the plot of the entire series ....attention to detail....and characters that are interesting and unique as you said. Its wierd because I list LOTR as one of my fav book series, yet I cant finish any of them in entirety to save my life! I dunno-"confused".
1/5/2007 6:11:45 AM Lysia I like very much Tolkien books, I think he must have been a genius to imagine not only such intrincate plots but to create even the languages of the people he inventend. I saw once a site where they taught you to write in the elf language! Interesting album!
1/6/2007 11:52:39 AM Sadira That would be awesome-speaking in the elf langauge!
1/7/2007 11:51:10 PM Sadira Awesome! This is my name Alassë L&uacuteinwë
1/8/2007 7:07:09 AM Lysia Mine is Lúthien Anárion!
1/8/2007 10:00:17 AM RadiantMoon Very Awesome matching imagery descriptions.,. by the way It's me, Nessa Yávëtil.
6/26/2007 12:59:39 AM Sadira Well just so you all know the "Itailian Lakes" is supposed to be the four trees of gondor-but because of the character constraints all you can see is the picture )=
