Sic Transit Gloria Mundi...
(or: I can't believe I am 31, I was only 19 yesterday-I swear :P)
If you stand far enough back from it, Life is an interminable series of happenstances and small situations...
...that all come full circle in the end.
When you are an infant, you are safe, at least from the fear that knowledge brings, and the abject terror conferred by true wisdom...
...and the support that you need is always there, indefatiguable.
The moments that remain with you always have no material value, only the pricelessness of warm memories...
Your life seems an endess parade of comings and goings, friends, and the mischevious spirit of youth...
...until the first awarewness that things will NOT always remain so simple...
...from the first moment you realize that you are no longer alone when you are by yourself..
...to the moment you realize that you did not want so very much what you thought you wanted; and summarily realized the Power that this gave you...
...to the first time you feel the pain of that particular table turned...
...to the day you knew you could live through loss and still find joy.
The first time you thought, "This was not the way it was supposed to be!"...
...and gave in to dreaming of what might have been...
Immersing yourself in the mundane to avoid mourning the loss of the Dream...
Until the dance ends...
Ironically...
But always a surprise, and always just a few moments too soon...
Time, Death, and Judgement
