The words of Chief Seattle

The Sacred Wood
Every part of the earth is sacred.

Chalk Cliffs of Rügen
every shining pine needle,

Seaside Flowers
every sandy shore,

The Hayfield
every meadow,

The Drone
every humming insect.

Our English Coasts (Strayed Sheep)
We are part of the earth and it is part of us.

Gathering Flowers
The perfumed flowers are our sisters,

On the Cliffs
the bear, the deer, the great eagle are our brothers.

A Waterfall in Glenfinlas
Will you teach your children that the earth is our mother?

The March Marigold
What befalls the earth

The Orange Gatherers
befalls all the sons of the earth.

The Deluge
This we know:

The Patriach of the Orchard
Earth does not belong to man,

Boy piping to the fishes
man belongs to the earth.

Apple Blossoms
All things are connected like the blood that connects us all.

The Goat Girl
Man did not weave the web of life,

Among the brambles
he is merely a strand in it.

October: Gathering Potatoes
Whatever he does to the web, he does to himself.

Returning Home
The earth is precious

Harvest in the Vineyard
and to harm the earth

The golden valley
is to heap contempt on it's creator.
